Lavi Kasongo is a talented plastic artist of Congolese origin who has been
\npainting since he was 5 years old. Expelled from the Congo by the brutal civil war that
\nrages the country, he has been a refugee in Brazil since 2015, where he
\ncontinued his career internationally. Inspired by his African past and
\nhis South American present, he creates paintings where African colors are in
\nabstract harmony. Lavi has participated in several individual and group
\nexhibitions in prestigious galleries such as the Maison de France, State of
\nS\u00e3o Paulo Pinacoteca, SESC, Michigan Art Space, and the Inn Gallery, among
\nothers. He was invited to participate in the \u201cLatitudes\u201d project by SESC
\nVila Mariana where he painted a wall that tells a bit about his story and of other
\nrefugees.<\/p>\n
Lavi’s collection consists of landscapes, portraits and abstract paintings in oil
\nand acrylic, inspired by his human story.<\/p>\n
